The School-Now Certified thru Age 14!

Chicago Education Project is certified by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) as a non-public special education facility that services children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, PDD-NOS, emotional/behavioral disorders, specific learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, and other health impairments.

Using the standards of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior (VB), while also incorporating social and relationship development, we offer year-round instruction with 1:1 and small group instruction. We create individualized educational plans for each of our students, which can be quickly adjusted based on their needs and progress.

Our dedicated and enthusiastic instructors far exceed minimum requirements. All of our instructors hold Bachelor degrees in human service-related fields, and most are currently working on graduate degrees in the fields of Special Education, Behavior Analysis, Psychology and related fields. Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), RDI ® Consultants, Lead Teachers and support staff continually monitor each child's case, in order to achieve constant growth both academically and socially.

Our Curriculum

Using the principles of behavior analysis and verbal behavior, CEP works to develop an individualized curriculum for each student. Assessment tools including the ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP, Brigance, and Inventory of Good Learner Repertoires are used to assess student strengths and deficits. After a review of assessments, the educational team at CEP meets to develop goals and determine which curriculums may be most beneficial for the student.

CEP believes strongly that assessment tools are only a guide for the student's program development and should not be used as a sole curriculum. We never rely on one method. CEPs highly trained teachers and behavior analysts modify a variety of curriculums and pull from many sources to best serve the needs of the students. Most educational content for our Early Learners do not come from traditional academic curriculums, but rather use their strengths to build up weaknesses as determined by assessments. Our intermediate and advanced classrooms utilize these assessments as well researched based curriculums including Language for Learning, Language for Thinking, SRA Horizons, Math-U-See, Distar, HWOT, Jolly Phonics, Teach me Language, and the Association Method.

Classroom Staff

Chicago Education Project take pride in our staff! All of Chicago Education Project's teachers are ISBE certified in Special Education and many hold endoresments in multiple areas. Our program is supervised by Board Certified Behavior Analysts which see each child directly on a weekly, if not daily basis. Classroom assistants at Chicago Education Project possess bachelors degrees in related fields and many are pursuing masters and doctoral degrees. Our Licensed Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers work directly with our teachers and assistants to ensure that goals are addressed constantly throughout the week. To ensure maximum learning opportunities and understanding of our childrens' disabilities all of our teachers and assistants have specialized training in autism and ABA before ever working in the classrooms.
