International Behavior Analyst Accepts Advisory Appointment and Adaptive PE Added to Curriculum

(Hoffman Estates, IL) - Mr. Robert Schramm, one of the most internationally renowned Behavior Analysts and authors, has accepted a faculty advisor appointment at The Bancroft School. As faculty advisor, Mr. Schramm will provide consultation on curriculum, behavior intervention, strategy techniques for the faculty, and write a quarterly article for the School’s website. Schramm has a Master’s degree in Special Education, is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and is the lead supervising Behavior Analyst for Knospe-ABA, Europe's largest Applied Behavior Analysis / Verbal Behavior institution.  Knospe-ABA uses the principles and procedures of behavior analysis espoused by the biggest names in ABA/VB to guide the education of over 150 children worldwide. Robert Schramm is a highly sought after international speaker and an author of two books, “The Seven Steps to Earning Instructional Control”, and “Motivation and Reinforcement-Turning the Tables on Autism”.

Mr. Schramm’s contribution to our School and faculty will prove to be a valuable asset for our students and families”, commented Val Belmonte, President and CEO of The Bancroft School.

The Bancroft School is also pleased to announce the addition of an Adaptive Physical Education curriculum. The school has assigned current Bancroft teacher, Jill Bisluk, as the Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, effective August 18.  Ms. Bisluk will plan, direct and implement a program of specialized instruction in motor development for The Bancroft School students. The new program will have available for its use the Hoffman Estates Park District gymnasium at the Scott R. Triphahn Community Center and Ice Arena.

Val Belmonte, The Bancroft School President & CEO, commented “Jill has been a tremendous asset to The Bancroft School and will thrive in her new role as our Adaptive Physical Education Teacher. Her Physical Education expertise and teaching experience make her an ideal candidate to launch the Adaptive PE curriculum for Bancroft School students”.

Bisluk attended Northeastern Illinois University and DePaul University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance & Physical Fitness for Individuals with Disabilities and a Master of Education degree in Special Education & General Education. Ms. Bisluk is also an adjunct professor in Concordia University’s Physical Education Department.

Blair Drewke, Educational Training and Curriculum Coordinator, will be leaving The Bancroft School on July 30, 2014, to pursue a career opportunity with a Chicago suburban school district. The Bancroft School wishes Blair well as she begins a new chapter in her career.
